Christmas Recipes
Christmas is all about the traditional recipes and the way Granma always did it.
I remember a story I heard about a Christmas story, which really was a nightmare before Christmas for the girls that had taken over the tradition of Christmas to cook the Christmas lunch.
Each year the meat was placed in the baking pan witht the ends cut off and placed under the meat and then baked giving wonderful merry christmas images of a delicious lunch just like granma made. One of the girls spoke to gran several days until christmas to ask the question “for 10 years everyone has been following your christmas tradition and cutting off the ends of the meat before baking, why did you do that?”
Granma answered “I only had a small dish and the meat would not fit so I had to cut the ends off to make it fit!”
Some times no matter how many merry christmas wishes and traditions are handed down it really is a great idea to get the meaning behind the tradition so you understand the “Why?”
